Archery at LNER

An archery club based on the outskirts of chesterfield in Derbyshire. The archery part of the club is relatively young but the rest of the club has been around for many years.

When pistol shooting was banned after Dunblane the members of the L.N.E.R. had to look for something to fill the void. The ranges had been the centre of excellence for target shooting, being used by the junior national squads and the East Midlands pistol squads. A small local archery club was invited to have a look at the facilities, they liked what they saw and decided to form an archery section at the L.N.E.R. It is now a thriving part of the club with members competing at events around the local area.

If archery is something you would like to try, or you are an archer looking for a club in the area, age is no barrier, young, old, able-bodied or disabled, all are welcome.

The archery section of the club welcomes recurve/Olympic bows as well as Compund bows. In fact Compound bows now make up approximately half of the archers at the club.
